I went up to a perfect stranger who was knitting in Tully's yesterday and asked to feel her yarn - this is a first - it didn't seem odd to me at all, but I think my sister's wanted to just crawl into their nonfat vanilla latte cups. Eh, what do they know?

Completely appropriate behavior. I would be flattered if someone asked to feel my yarn!
You were acting completely within normal knitter's ettiquite. (I think I spelled that wrong.)
I think going around squeezing other peoples things is just weird. (love your sisters)
